My role was to develop testing strategies and lead the testing delivery requirements for a large programme of work encompassing several complex individual projects and providing test management support as required across this programme.
Providing programme co ordination to ensure that delivery dates for the testing activities are achieved as per the various project plans.

The role demanded that I create proactive relationships though test management with key project and business stakeholders to ensure these individuals understood the shape and needs of the programme’s testing strategy.

I provided significant input into the overall strategy for the regional programmes and acted as the linkage between the Regional programmes and the Global aims under a single operating model.

Success in these roles was measured by increasing team sizes and identifying openings for the Account Managers to pursue and win new business in surrounding business areas.

October 2009 – January 2010 Test Manager
Zurich North America

My role was to manage the initial AppLabs team in the set up, Governance and QA activities needed for the phased testing of a new application in a cross vendor and multi development environment for the North American operation of Zurich Insurance.

Working from the ZurichNA headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois the role also involved the gap analysis activities for assessing the existing Zurich QA framework and the effort needed to create a TCoE to take Zurich forward in their plans for better quality repeatable testing practises.

Successful delivery of the initial activities has led to AppLabs being engaged to take on further phases of the delivery of this application into production and has meant a growth of the team from 4 members to a 15 strong delivery team.


May 2007 – February 2008 Regional Senior Test/QA Lead for the EMEA region
Cadbury Schweppes Plc

in the position of Regional Senior Test/QA Lead for the EMEA region I had responsibility for a team of Test Leads and Analysts.

I was accountable for the technical test, delivery and co-ordination of major cross-domain capability projects, including; Cadbury Schweppes system applications and other technology domains.
My role included the initial technical impact assessment, technical options and high-level end-to-end design planning for an agreed test delivery strategy. Maintaining, durability, reusability and quality and keeping control of direction and strategies on quality and operational guidelines, procedures, and standards to ensure appropriate consistency and quality is provided.
I worked alongside peer groups across geographies (The Americas and Asia Pacific) to ensure the supportability and quality of new application releases to production and I was also responsible for the growth and development of the team, whilst being fully involved in the day to day projects.

October 2000 – April 2007

providing expertise in Test Management, Business and Test Analysis, Team Leading and QA I performed the following roles:

Experian - Returned to Experian as a Test Manager providing functional and automated testing for several projects.

Siemens - This was a very short but high profile piece of work to provide the Test Strategy for inclusion within a bid for the upcoming government changes to the London Congestion Charge. The work was carried out as part of a very experienced Siemens team within a very tight timescale.

Sirius - As a team lead and part of the System Test team I was responsible for two teams, one team onsite in the UK and one team in India.

Nationwide Building Society - This piece of consultancy was originally scheduled to be a 3 month assignment to backfill for a Nationwide team lead on secondment to a different team. The client was very impressed with my work and my assignment was extended for two years to provide consultancy for several projects.

Tesco, Microsoft, Astrazeneca, Northern Electric, Experian, National Australia Group and several in-house projects.
